Kuragehime: Part 2
Happy New Year!
Main Character: Tsukimi Kurashita, 18
We start off with a flashback of Tsukimi and her mom gazing into a large tank full of jellyfish. Her mom promises her that she'll sew a white wedding dress for Tsukimi that looks similar to the jellyfish tentacles/stingers that were floating in front of them. She also added that "all girls can be beautiful princesses when they grow up." This is what I felt the theme of the show would run with. I started thinking about if this was true, how do we define "beautiful"? What are the conditions to obtain this "beauty"?
In a monologue in which we hear her thoughts directed towards a "conversation" with her mom, she apologizes for not turning into a princess, rather, she sees herself as a freak due to unforeseen circumstances.
We're given a hint on what type of beauty Tsukimi defines. Surrounded by people who are dressed up, dolled up, and made up, she refers to outer beauty which makes me think of how naive she still is and perhaps how shallow her way of thinking is.
At first I was deeply hoping that this wouldn't become another "The Wallflower" (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge). Not only was the premise similar (turn ugly girl into a beautiful swan), but also the characters and their obsessions with certain subjects (Tsukimi - jellyfish; Sunako - morbidity/horror). If that was the case I began to assume that there would be a pretty boy involved.
Pretty is right. At first I thought it was a woman with a deep voice and that this would be a yuri series (it would be certainly more different from The Wallflower).
Enter Kuranosuke Koibuchi, first year college (which I am assuming he's 18-19 yrs. old). Unlike the strong and manly bishounen Kyohei from The Wallflower, Kuranosuke is the complete opposite, enjoying the fun and feel of cross-dressing. So, here is our pretty boy that would be turning Tsukimi into a "Stylish/Hipster" in no time.

Kuragehime (Princess Jellyfish) Part 1
Possibly the best anime I've watched in 2010. Romance, hilarious facial expressions, side-splitting comedy, slice-of-life, and gender bending - what more could you ask for?
Well, for starters, more episodes plz. Running only 11 episodes long, this is possibly the shortest anime series I've watched. Oh, hold on, I recall FLCL being 6 episodes. Oh, and Big O...until CN produced more episodes. Well, you get the idea.
"I'm perfectly normal."
I beg to differ, Kuranosuke-san. I believe that the one closest to being normal is...no one. In fact, each character's quirkiness gives the anime/manga life and depth. Far from being portrayed as typical otaku as in the first episode, we see the passion explained further in detail (but not too much detail) which was just enough to give the feeling of being more than one-dimensional characters.

Face Regimen: Day Three
I had new pimples pop up because of Neutrogena, but L'Oreal makes it all better. I've had the same experience with other OTC acne medicine where they'd increase the amount of pimples, but perhaps I'll give Neutrogena a few more weeks (not to mention this is the time where my hormone levels are spiking). For $17, you better be worth it Neutrogena!!

Face Regimen: Day Two
So far, I like what L'Oreal's doing to my face. I had a bunch of zits on my forehead and temples, but now they have reduced and faded into red pigments. Neutrogena is a little on the oily side for me, but I love the fact it has a sheer tint.

Starting a new face regimen :P
Starting a new face regimen with L'Oreal Skin Genesis: Pore Minimizing Gel Cleanser and Neutrogena Ageless Intensives: Tone Correcting Tinted Moisture. So far, I like how they both feel.
I've had satisfactory results with Acutane, but I've still got a few zits popping up monthly and I haven't been nice to my face at all.

I need to post more & Pens!
I love pens...but I hate using them up, so, for some weird reason I would rather let them dry up than to use up all the ink. Plus, as much as I hate how Hobby Lobby tries to rip some of us off, I appreciate their line of pens available. Probably couldn't find a 0.25 mm pen in Office Depot or Staples.

OMG YAY! Cricut Expression©!!!
I'm so excited!! After watching the price for more than 24 hours on several Cricut Expression©s, losing 11 bids, getting angry at several buyers that had bid on several at the same time, and almost giving up hope, I finally got my hands on a brand new machine! :D
I noticed though that the ones I lost were almost $100 more than what I paid for tonight. Not only that, the bidders were going crazy because the prices skyrocketed before it got down to the 30 minute mark. Also, it was during the afternoon and early evening, so, seeing that it was Labor Day and that everyone was still awake, I should have known better than to waste my time staring at the computer screen and waiting for a good price to come along to not be raped by other potential buyers like me.
It was because of luck that I got mine at a fantastic price. One of the buyers that had simultaneously bid on 14 Cricut Expression©s won one of them and backed out of mine when I thought the bidding was over. Lo and behold, the timer restarted at 3 minutes and I was just going crazy with anticipation because I knew that someone could side-swipe me and buy it. I know I could have waited and skipped out on the tension and frustration of being beat, but having to stare at your computer screen for a day without seeing any results was getting so annoying that I decided I had to be more aggressive with my bid limit based on the results I saw from losing those 11 bids.

Photoshop Tutorial: Making Clean Pictures of Items
Well, here's my first tutorial with Photoshop. It's not revolutionary in concept, but hopefully it would be a bit of help to those starting out or just a refresher for veterans. Also, please bear in mind that my tutorials are done using Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5). However, that shouldn't make much of a difference if you are using CS, CS2, CS3, or CS4.
